HEPHOS
Hand-hammered B20 cymbals · est. 2019

Cymbals
forged in fire.

Four families. One obsession — the moment a hammer meets molten bronze and a sound finds its voice. HEPHOS makes cymbals for drummers who chase tone, not catalogues.

01 · The HEPHOS principle

We don't manufacture tone. We find it.

Every HEPHOS cymbal starts as a blank disc of cast B20 bronze. Heated, pressed, and lathed by hand — then handed to a tuner whose only job is to listen.

No two pieces leave our floor sounding identical. That's not a flaw — it's the entire point. Bronze is alive. We just bring out what's already in there.

02 · Families

Four voices.
One craft.

Each HEPHOS family is built around a single sonic intention — from the smoky breath of Ember to the cutting roar of Coal.

03 · The Craft

Six steps. A thousand decisions.

    01

    Cast

B20 ingots melted at 1100°C and cast into discs.

    02

    Roll

Pressed and heat-treated through six progressive stages.

    03

    Lathe

Profiled by hand on a foot-driven lathe.

    04

    Hammer

Voiced asymmetrically — each cymbal under a single tuner's ear.

    05

    Test

Played through a 30-pattern protocol before approval.

    06

    Sign

Tuner signs the bell. Goes out the door with a name.

04 · Compare

Pick yours,
side by side.

Lay up to four cymbals next to each other and watch the deltas in pitch, sustain, and brightness light up. The right one stops being a guess.
